Speaker Bio

Tom Chiu is an active member of the Sand Hill Angels. He has been an
angel investor for over 12 years and putting his money into 25+
startups; including Innopath, Retailigence, Appstores, Clean Power
Finance, Movable Ink and others. Tom serves on several advisory boards
and has a passion to work with startups in mobile space.

Tom spent over 20 years in various high tech industries including
mobile software, consumer electronics, wireless, patent sales/license,
semiconductors, and embedded systems. Tom is currently the founder of
IPforAsia, an intellectual property marketplace to bridge between
Greater China and large U.S. corporations. He is also acting as a
Business Development Director at NXP Software.

 

 

 

 

Patrick joined   GetJar  in 2008 as CMO of marketing and member of the executive team. His primary role at GetJar is to develop the company’s overall marketing, branding, content and communications strategy.

Patrick has been in the mobile content space since 2004, first at mobile games publisher I-play then subsequently at glu mobile. Prior to joining GetJar, Patrick was Marketing Director Europe at glu where he built up the company’s marketing team and was a key part of the European management team that helped take the company public on the NASDAQ in March 2007.

With 15 years of marketing experience at leading companies such as PepsiCo and Diamondcluster, Patrick has worked in large multinationals and venture-backed start-ups in marketing, sales and general management.

Patrick holds on MBA from INSEAD and a BS from Georgetown University.

Earl Valencia Business Incubation Team Emerging Technologies Group, Cisco SystemsBased in San Jose, California, Earl Martin S. Valencia is a Business Development Manager in Cisco’s Emerging Technology Group (ETG).  He is part of the Business Incubation team which is responsible for finding, filtering and growing Cisco’s future billion-dollar businesses. In this role, he evaluates new product and market opportunities, creates business cases and collaborates with the internal and external communities to identify future market transitions.  He is the current program manager for the ETG Skunk works laboratory developing prototypes to demonstrate mobile and cloud-based applications. He was also deputy program manager for Cisco I-Prize, a global innovation competition that attracted close to 3000 members from more than 150 countries.

Earl obtained a B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering,   Summa Cum Laude,  from Boston University (MA, USA), an M.Eng. in Systems Engineering from Cornell University (NY, USA) and an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business (CA, USA) with certificates in Global and Public Management.

He is currently the President of the Filipino Entrepreneurs Network in Silicon Valley.

 

Jeremy Glassenberg is the Platform Manager at  Box, where he oversees partner integrations, API and platform product management, and  Box’s community of several thousand developers.  I n addition to working on  Box’s developer platform, Jeremy is a part-time blogger at ProgrammableWeb, and a contributor to several open-source programs such as Mozilla.
